Using WWMD KitsWorld Water Monitoring Day (WWMD) Kits include everything you need to test the four "snapshot" parameters of watershed health: temperature, pH, turbidity and dissolved oxygen. The kit contains a step-by-step instruction booklet describing how to use the kit, one set of hardware (collection jar, pH test tube, DO vial, Secchi Disk decal and a thermometer) and enough pH and dissolved oxygen reagent tablets to perform 50 tests. A Material Safety Data Sheet is also included. The WWMD kit was designed to be accurate, yet accessible, technology for all levels of experience. However, you may also participate using your own monitoring equipment. Younger children should be supervised by an adult when using the kit to conduct water quality testing. If you are considering ordering a kit, please keep in mind that while each kit contains enough materials to do 50 tests, there is only one set of hardware. For classrooms or large groups using a single kit, we suggest breaking into four groups covering each parameter, then rotating the groups between stations. ![]() The monitoring period occurs between March 22nd and December 31st. Data may be reported through January 1st of next year. To order kits, click here. * content for this page is adapted from: http://www.worldwatermonitoringday.org/Test_Kits/Kits_Main.html
