7 Easy Steps to Participate!
- Liability forms and Permission Slips: When ordering kits please sign, date and fax a liability form, found in the Forms Library to us at 858-695-9560. The kits will be mailed to the address listed on your registration form. If you want the kits mailed to another address instead, please send the preferred address to us with the liability form.
- Selecting a site: Participants select a water monitoring site in the San Diego and Baja California region
following the site selection criteria provided by the Watershed Consortium.
- Identifying site coordinates: Participants obtain site latitude and longitude (i.e., 32.8982° N / 117.8982° W) from:
www.topozone.com or by GPS. Taking pictures and sending them via e-mail is encouraged. If
you have pictures but are unable to send them via e-mail please contact us.
- Register to participate: Participants register their site and group online.
Note: when you fill out the registration form you will be asked to provide the Watershed
Consortium with your site's latitude and longitude as well as your group's details.
- Monitoring: Between September 18th and December 15th, proceed to site and conduct monitoring.
- Submitting data: Participants may send-in their completed datasheets to the consortium by e-mail or by fax at 619-224-4638. Data sheets are available in our Forms Library.
- Receipt of Certificates: School or groups will receive a certificate of participation, a watershed map of San Diego
County with sampling sites and a summary of all monitoring results. For community service
credit you may fax your information to the Consortium at 619-224-4638.
